A lot of unexpected cell adhesion and spreading have been seen on the patterned hydrogel and PFPE surfaces and aligment to the topography. My research is to find explanations why the cells adhere along surface topography considering the following aspects:

1. Cell adhesion dependence on general roughness and specific nanotopography

2. Cell adhesion dependence on the elasticity of the substrate

3. Cell adhesion dependence on the porosity of the substrate
